Join Hikers and Equestrians to Celebrate the Trails of San Marcos

On Nov. 7th, the city of San Marcos will present the 18th annual San Marcos Trails Day. This free hiking and equestrian event will begin at 9:00 a.m.

Each year, San Marcos Trails Days promotes the extensive trail system in the city and also encourages membership in t he Friends of Sasn Marcos Parks and Trails. Participants can choose from 3, 5.5, or 7-mile hikes, and certain trails usually not available to the public, such as South Lake trails, will be available. Equestrians can ride through 5.5 miles of scenic trails.

The San Marcos Chamber’s Grand Summer Festival will take place along Via Vera Cruz between Grand Avenue and San Marcos Boulevard, as well as on Linda Vista St. Come join more than 50,000 people as they enjoy the festival on Sunday, August 30th from 9:00 – 5:00.

The classic car show along Linda Vista street will include classic cars and trucks. The Children’s Area will include rides and a climbing wall. Representatives from the San Marcos Sheriff’s Department and San Marcos Fire Department who will be there with a fire truck and ambulance.

More than 200 vendors are expected to attend this year’s event. Festival food vendors will be stationed throughout the festival area and there will be beer available at the Beer Garden.
